Site-specific installation, jesmonite, styrofoam, respirators, office furniture, cable tubing, air ducts, LED lights, electronics, videos, sound, 2024
Site-specific installation 2074 (2024) in the old telescope tower of Tartu Observatory takes visitors on a journey to a hypothetical future, where climate change has left its deep mark. The work is based on CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) technology combined with science fiction. The installation, set in the near dystopian future, is based on sci-fi’s common view of humanity, where individual rights and freedoms have changed. It plays with the idea that the most important thing is the survival of humanity as a species, within which the individual is no longer as important.
